Dapitan, a city since 1963, is on the northwestern coast of Zamboanga del Norte in Mindanao. The city is known for the Rizal Shrine where the Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal spent his last four years in exile.
The very popular Dakak Beach is most known for its beautfiully shaped cove and powdery white sand, and as a diving mecca in Mindanao.
